Owen Blue
Owen Blue is a singer, songwriter, trained mime, and dreamer who’s nearly died twice in the last four years—and almost literally, music saved his life. After Long COVID and Lyme disease broke him apart, he rebuilt himself in the shadowy metros of pandemic Berlin, singing to commuters and the homeless whose coins kept him alive. Immersed in the songs of Bob Dylan, Adrianne Lenker, and Nick Cave—and reawakened by the pulse of Berlin’s clubs—he created STILL LIFES and BLACK PAINTING, albums that stand as both testaments to life and echoes of death. Blending classic songwriting with avant-garde punk, Owen has drawn in listeners searching for refuge and release. His band, The Still Lives, spans six cities and three countries, featuring an unlikely lineup that includes a math professor, an Abbey Road–trained producer, and a licensed priest. Their first tour lit up the U.S. East Coast; their second will unfold entirely on a boat—set to be captured in a documentary. They’re very serious people, apparently. Are you ready to meet them?
